“Power Struggle” is a painting that was created to depict the internal and external conflict that comes with acquiring great power. The painting is also meant to show the growth and abundance that can flourish when power is used unselfishly. The image shows a bejeweled crown, which represents the mind, being embellished by a bouquet of flowers. The flowers which anoint the crown, although beautiful and thriving, have a cut on the side of the stems. This cut represents the pain and suffering that comes from possessing great power. Blood and water both poor from the stems and provide nourishment for the flowers themselves to grow. This is a symbol meant to show that the sacrifice and pain that comes from one's strength can be used to either destroy the individual or allow them to flourish. The choice is determined by the individual whether their power will destroy them or provide nourishment to flourish.
